As part of the university's community engagement strategic initiative, AUS introduced the Sharakah program to foster partnerships with select schools in the UAE.??Through Sharakah, AUS engages school teachers and students by offering a wide range of events, activities and programs, from teacher workshops and training, to academic events and sports competitions for students, as well as sponsorship for school publications and events. Additionally, AUS offers exclusive scholarships for students from the Sharakah partners schools.

Our special relationship has proven to be exceedingly popular with schools and students throughout the Emirates.

Fall 2021
Join the Google Developer Student Club | October 9–November 27, 2021

As part?of Sharakah initiative?activities, the AUS Google Developer Student Club is inviting high school students in grades 10, 11 and 12 to take part in the weekly sessions scheduled to take place on Saturdays at 1 p.m. These sessions will introduce students to various technologies. Currently, we offer four tracks: Machine Learning, Big Data, Web App Development and Security.?

The students will receive a subscription link to online labs. By finishing a certain number of labs in a certain period of time, they become eligible to receive a gift from Google. To be able to join the events, please follow the steps to become a member. Students will need to RSVP to each event in order for us to accommodate the number of attendees.

Getting ready for the EMSAT Achieve English exam | October 11- November 29, 2021

We offer high school students in grades 11 and 12 a foundational preparation for the EMSAT English Achieve exam.?The course will provide a total of seven hours’ free instruction online.?The course objectives are to build students' English reading and writing skills and to develop?their vocabulary and test-taking skills in preparation?for the EMSAT English Achieve exam.??

Students will be expected to participate fully in discussions and class activities, and they will have to complete reading and writing assignments.?Personalized feedback will be provided by the instructor, and a certificate of completion will be issued at the end of the course.

Maximum enrollment: Up to 2 students from each Sharakah School

Course materials will be provided electronically.

Takatof Volunteer Essentials | October 13, 2021

AUS Community Service and Outreach, in collaboration with the AUS Sharakah Program and Emirates Foundation, invite you to join the Takatof Volunteer Essentials Certificate Training. Takatof offers youth meaningful opportunities to volunteer for important social causes. Learn about the development of volunteer plans, managing communication between volunteers, fundamentals of human resources for volunteers, assessment and distribution of volunteers and the development of volunteering projects. Attendees will receive certificates.

Preparatory for MTH 103 Calculus I. Emphasizes the basic skills and techniques of algebra and trigonometry. Explores real and complex numbers, basic arithmetic, equations and inequalities, study of functions, polynomial and rational functions, exponential and logarithmic function, trigonometric functions and introduction to limits.

Sharakah Schools Professional Development for ESL Teachers | November 20–27, 2021

Engaging ESL Activities and Learning Exercises

Training Objective: Conducted by AUS, the training offers professional development workshops for English language teachers to help modify their teaching methods and techniques and provide practical ideas for adopting communicative methodology and improving the effectiveness of English language teaching in classrooms. The main objectives of the training are:

  • introducing participants to new resources, best teaching practices, techniques, materials, and methodologies
  • demonstrating the use of technology to develop language skills

Training Description:? 6 hours per week, for 2 weeks, equal to 12 hours of training time. The training features practical workshops that include activities that require participants to apply hands-on strategies presented during the program lesson modules to their own teaching contexts using materials from their own curriculum.

Sharakah Schools Teacher Training | November 20–27, 2021


The training course includes access to numerous teaching resources and IELTS test teaching tips created specifically to prepare prospective IELTS students for taking the test. Our professional IELTS trainers will share interesting and creative activities they use in their own IELTS classrooms and demonstrate some activities and practical strategies to fully prepare students for exam success. Teacher participants will be introduced to the types of tasks learners can expect, strategies for each of those tasks, and learn how to apply this knowledge in their classrooms with practical teaching ideas that give learners confidence and help them perform at their best. Participants will also be given the opportunity to demonstrate what they have learned in the course in a microteaching presentation.

Over a two-day training that focuses on the four language skills, participants will receive 12 hours of IELTS teaching skills to help them develop their understanding of the IELTS test and boost their confidence in the classroom.

Explore, Design and Build | Mechanical Engineering Boot Camp | December 12–16, 2021

At the AUS Mechanical Engineering Boot Camp, our hands-on activities will show high school students how studying mechanical engineering can lead to a career where they can design solutions to problems people face each day. Open to high school students in Grades 10-12,?the five-day camp offers students the chance to:

Scholarship?Information for School Counselors?

As a Sharakah partner school, you are invited to nominate students from your school to be considered for a Sharakah scholarship?offered by AUS. We are very happy to extend this opportunity to your school and hope that it will enhance your efforts in supporting your distinguished and deserving students who are interested in joining AUS. Find out more about the scholarship?and grant opportunities available to your students who qualify.

Sharakah School Scholarships

Your school can nominate?up to five?of your AUS applicants to receive a Sharakah School Scholarship named after your school in the range of?50 to 100 percent remission on tuition and housing (sharing room for women and men; single and double for men only). This is a limited and competitive scholarship. Newly admitted applicants with limited financial resources will be given priority in consideration.

Nominees not selected?for this scholarship will be automatically considered for the financial grants program, which provides remission on tuition and shared accommodation that ranges from 5 to 50 percent.

Other Grants and Scholarships Available??

AUS offers the opportunity for a university education to those who have the necessary talent and commitment, but perhaps not the finances. Two out of three students at AUS receive grants and scholarships each year. For more information on the range of scholarships and grants available to qualifying students, please?click here.

Within established guidelines, AUS will work to help financially challenged students from your school who are interested in joining the university. To help us in this regard, we would truly appreciate your support in sharing information about our scholarship and grant opportunities?to interested parents and students.?

We are happy to work collaboratively with you on cases that require special consideration. We encourage you to connect directly with the Office of Financial Grants and Scholarships to discuss the cases of applicants who have special circumstances.


AUS is pleased to offer its Sharakah Partners partial sponsorship for projects that fall under the following categories:

  • school yearbook and other institutional publications
  • events and activities that are directly related to students in Grades 10, 11 and 12
  • use of the AUS auditorium for graduation ceremonies (venue only, subject to availability)
  • school open days and fairs that are directly related to students in Grades 10, 11 and 12
