In the off season i ride my snowmobile. My wife and i both ride every chance we get. We have 04 Yamaha Vipers, hers is stock and mine is modified with an extended track, aftermarket pipes and nitrous. I'm also going to lighten up the race car this winter and hopefully build a bigger motor for next year. It was running high 9's but mostly 10.0's. I would like to run mid 9's and liscence for next year. Now i'm just waiting for snow. I hope it comes early this year.

Well, I don't know about all drag racers, but Paul and I sit back, relax, drink some brews and enjoy the end of the NASCAR season and Football. There really isn't alot to do in Virginia. When I lived in Michigan, the winters were great!!! Snowmobiling, Ice Skating, Sledding, Skiing, 4 wheel racing on the ice, etc. We don't really get alot of snow here in Virginia to really go out and do anything in it and Paul doesn't much care for the snow anyway. So we just sit back and relax. Paul & I work on the car here and there trying to improve it for the following year. But that's about all....Just wait for the next season to come around...

At Waynesboro, (the bracket finals) we timed in on Saturday. We ran the gamblers race that evening and notice a major change in our time, (the weather getting cooler but the humidity dropping dramatically). Usually when the weather gets cooler, the car goes faster, but in this case, due to no humidity, the car went slower. The next morning, the weather temp and the humidity was the same as the day before when we ran our time run, but the car still ran a bunch slower????? Should of stayed the same as what we timed in on right? I'm not sure if being in the mountains make a difference but it was something that we never experienced before with the car. Anyone have any ideas??????

Well....this site is perfect for me because in the off season I shift from fast cars to Rock and roll. I spend a lot of time recording and playing and tinkering with guitars. To me they are kinda like cars that you can bring inside and chill on the couch with!!!!!!!! Thats about all, really. Planning on some trans upgrades to the Nova in the off season. I also am putting together a "backup" car in case anyone in the points run breaks this season. At least then we will have a "plan B" Thats about it for Smitty!!!!!!!!!

Paul and I went to the NASCAR race in Martinsville a couple of weekends ago. We had a blast. Friday it rained, but the rest of the weekend was good weather. The race wasn't really all that exciting like it used to be, before the car of today came into the picture, but had a good time, seen alot of friends and partied hard.....

Now just sitting around watching football and the remainder of the NASCAR races.......

Paul's looking into making a few changes on the car this winter, like adding the cal track bars, and some fuel system modifications. Hopefully we can get the car into the mid to upper 10 sec. range in the quarter.........

Season's End, not yet, one more race for me this Sunday Nov. 2nd and one more for my son with his Jr. Dragster on Nov. 22nd. Then we move on to basketball for my son John and ice skating for my daughter Grace. Now I can watch some football on Sunday's, GO GIANTS!!!! Then we need to go through the Jr. Dragster and get my Nova wagon street ride finished. Going to try and get some painting done inside the house too that I've been neglecting the last few years so I could work on the race cars. Boy, my wife is the best. Thank god for work, I get to rest a little there.

Wow John, sounds like you have a lot going on. Looks like you could use a little break in the season. How do you find the time for everything?????

I thought I was a member Donna. You asked me to join, sorry Wow! winter and another site to follow, PLM Motorsports cool. I've recently joined Face Book, My Space, and the old Grade School web page. Winter is spent waiting until the tracks post their 2010 schedules. Then doing a few honey do's so the week-ends the race pup and I can go racing.
